The previous post reminded me of this assignment I shot back in April. I thought I’d dig it up and share it. Some photos from the closing night of Toronto Alternative Arts and Fashion Week at Studio City.
The YoYo For the Dodo event at the Toronto Zoo, was organized to help raise awareness and money for four endangered species – Polar Bears, Hornbills, Komodo Dragons and Ngege fish. The event also attempted breaking a world record for most people simultaneously yo-yoing. The sad/ironic/funny part is that when the event was initially announced, the record was 660-something, but it wasn’t until a few weeks ago that a bunch of boyscouts set the record at 2021. Although it was a noble attempt, the zoo fell short with only 1,376 participating. Also, “Fast Eddy” McDonald tried to break a world record as well, for performing 145 “Hop The Fence” tricks. He too fell short – by a mere 10 tricks.

I found these photos while backing up some hard drives. Taken on June 12/10, at the Cole St. opening ceremonies at Regent Park, Canada’s oldest and largest social housing project.
